Our Dental Office Specific First Aid & CPR Training
All Participants Earn Continuing Education (C.E.) Points
In addition to the standard course materials, each Dental course includes a discussion and/or practice performing rescues in dental office-specific settings including waiting rooms, operatories, and dental chairs.
CPR-C with AED
All participants earn Continuing Education Points
Teaches the fundamentals of cardiac arrest resuscitation for adult, child, and infant victims. Participants also learn different rescue maneuvers for patients with partial and completely obstructed airways (i.e. choking). The course concludes with a demonstration of how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in an emergency situation. This is the minimum level of training required for dental staff that have a duty to respond to medical emergencies.
Required: All dental staff | Course Length: 3 hours
Health Care Provider CPR with AED and BVM
All participants earn Continuing Education Points
This course covers everything addressed in CPR-C with AED but to the highest standard of competency. This is the same training taken by physicians, paramedics, and nurses. In addition to learning advanced resuscitation techniques and ratios, participants learn how to use the Bag-Valve Mask (Ambu Bag) oxygen devices present in every dental office.
Required: All dentists and staff providing sedation and/or general anesthesia. Strongly recommended for all dental staff.
Course Length: 4 hours
Emergency First Aid*
All participants earn Continuing Education Points
*This course is WSIB approved.
Focuses on the causes and treatment of common traumatic emergencies experienced in the dental setting. Dental staff learn how to manage several different emergencies including acute respiratory (asthma exacerbations), cardiac (heart attacks), and circulatory (deadly bleeding) events.
Required: Offices with 1-5 staff | Course Length: 7 hours
Standard First Aid*
All participants earn Continuing Education Points
*This course is WSIB approved.
Covers everything discussed in Emergency First Aid in greater detail and introduces several new traumatic emergencies experienced in dental offices. Participants receive more hands-on training in the bandaging and splinting injuries. A physiologic review of the effect of common prescription medications is also offered.
Required: Offices with 6 or more staff | Course Length: 13 hours
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
All participants earn Continuing Education Points
This training can be added onto an existing SAJE course or may be taken separately. The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is a Canada-wide program designed to provide employers and employees with information about hazardous materials in the workplace. This course offers a background of safety requirements as well as how to interpret the labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) provided by the manufactures of hazardous materials.
Depending on the requirements of your office, WHMIS training can be added on to a pre-booked CPR or First-Aid course for only one additional hour of instruction!

Health & Safety Awareness for Workers and Supervisors
All participants earn Continuing Education Points
The Health & Safety Awareness for Workers and Supervisors course offers a review of Ontario’s Occupational Health & Safety Act as required by the Ministry of Labour. Participants will also learn about common workplace hazards and how to develop solutions that enhance the health and safety of workers, supervisors, and employers.
Required: All Dental Office Staff | Course Length: 1.5 hours
Accessibility Standards for Customer Service
All participants earn Continuing Education Points
This AODA-mandated training outlines businesses’ obligations with respect to accommodating people with disabilities. Different approaches one can take when interacting and assisting people with various types disabilities is also addressed.
